APPLES FOR GLOWING SKIN

Apples contain an array of nutrients necessary for skin health and glowing skin. Here's some information about what makes apples healthy for the skin in addition to some tips on where you can buy them.

What Makes Apples Healthy for Skin?
Apples contain a plethora of vitamins and minerals that are great for skin health. They're high in vitamin c, and, according to Mercola, the majority of us aren't getting enough of this critical vitamin.  Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant that absorbs damaging toxins that cause premature aging. It also helps heal wounds and keep your blood vessels healthy, which keeps your skin looking radiant and plump.
Apples are also a great source of vitamin A, a vitamin that keeps skin smooth and wrinkle-free. This vitamin is also great for healing wounds because it promotes the production of collagen, a protein that binds skin cells together and keeps them firm and tight.  Dehydrated skin can benefit from the oleic acid in apples as well as the biotin and zinc found in apples.
Apples have so many benefits for your health they should be something you have every day.
Where Can I Buy Apples?
I love to buy my apples from a local farmers market. The ones that are just picked are always good and sweet, but the ones that have been stored for a couple of weeks tend to be a bit less sweet. I've personally been buying the organic kind since they last longer and are usually cheaper than what you find in the grocery store.

How Can I Use Them?
Use apples in place of any fruit you'd normally use. I make smoothies and apple juice all the time, and they are a great snack to eat by themselves. They're delicious with almond butter spread over them and sprinkled with cinnamon.
